This is the golden rule be creative, be positive but if you are thinking you can get on top of search engines and capture 100% of the market it will be a huge mistake instead aim for a small segment. If you get even 1% to 5% of the market you will be on top. This brings us to our Rule3.

When you have built a website do not sit around and just wait for search engines to automatically make your site rank higher but keep on adding content to your site like new articles, news, blogs, rss feed etc. Be original in your content just do not copy paste pages from other websites but spread your message and ideas in your own words.

Ok you might have submitted to Google , Yahoo and MSN but there are more search engines out there submit your website to every other major search engine.

Submit your articles to article directories. Original and well written articles improve the visibility of your website.

Most people are very shy when it comes to exchanging links too shy to even send emails asking for a links exchange. They forget everyone who has a website wants to rank well in search engines so ask everyone to put your link on their website in exchange you will put their link on your website.

Rule8: Social Networking

Increase your site ranking by putting interesting content on facebook, twitter and other social networking sites. Your target should be to get people interested in your project or products and not only to make sales.
